Ultimately, focus means keeping the eyes of our heat fixed on Jesus the Messiah Who is the perfect image of God. If my strategic goal in life is to be like Him, He will keep me in face in daily business. Faith focused on God has the power so transform setbacks and failures into improvements in our walk with Him. This is because He has promised never to forsake us or test us beyond our ability to stand. The Lord is the One who gives us our first little bit of faith, and it is He who nurtures it to maturity. One time I met a businessman who was acting as a start-up company’s chief executive, but when I looked at his business card there was no title. I asked him about it and he whispered to me, “Actually, I’M an angel!” I learned that “angels” in the venture-capital community are investors who give a new company seed money before anyone else is ready to invest. Sometimes these “angels” also stay around and help manage the start-up. It struck me that God is like that. He invests in us before anyone can see eternal value in our lives. Then He says close by to make sure we reach the fruit-bearing stage.
