Sight
Did you know that?
♥ Because of the way light rays are bent when they enter the eye, images form upside down. The brain makes sense of the signals and flips the images upright.
♥ It’s been a great decade for eyes. Advances in glaucoma prevention (scientists now know that early intervention to lower pressure can slow the damage), cataract surgery (a much-shortened procedure), and laser surgery have restored vision to millions.
To enrich your sense of sight
♥ Take a multivitamins with 70 mg zinc and 0.4 mg of lutein, which may help prevent macular degeneration.
♥ Relax your eyes with this move. Roll a paper into a tube. Hold the tube over one eye, keeping both eyes open. Place your other hand against the edge, in front of your nose. Soften your gaze, until you see a hole in your hand.
♥ Wear 100 percent UV-blocking sunglasses, remove all eye makeup at night, and clean contact lenses. One worry you can toss away: Reading in the dark and sitting too close to the TV will not reduce vision or cause nearsighetdness.
